While some girls tend to be tomboys, society finds that to be acceptable. On the flip side, boys wearing what are deemed to be girls’ clothing is pretty much forbidden. Perhaps this is why older men shy away from anything that is not seen as manly. But thankfully, we are in a new millennia and societal views are changing with a new generation of young men leading the fashion charge.
If you ask a stylist what the most essential item of clothing in a wardrobe is, you might be surprised by the answer. Most people will be astonished to find out that is in fact underwear. And it’s not just any type underwear, we are talking about support underwear.
Let’s face it, for some guys it’s a win that their underwear aren’t full of holes, let alone get them to wear support underwear. However, with young men who do care about their appearance, they buy men’s body shapers because they know it helps slim them down so they look good in their outer clothes. Of course, body shapers are more associated with women’s wear but for those enlightened men, they’ll get the benefits of not only looking slimmer but having the mental confidence as well knowing they look good.
For those macho men who are sitting on the fence whether or not to try support underwear, it really isn’t what you think. This isn’t your granny’s panties you are trying on. Men’s body shapers also come in compression undershirts that look like regular shirts but they are just extra tight and have compression along the chest and stomach.
In this day and age, it is time to let go of what you should or shouldn’t wear based on your gender. Just wear what makes you feel comfortable and look good.
