Buying a wedding liability insurance
There is a law called Murphy’s Law that says that anything that can go wrong will go wrong, loosely paraphrased, and that is particularly true for the special events in life where everything has to be perfect. One such event is your wedding, where you have probably looked forward to the day since you were a small child. But, what if something goes wrong and one of your guests chokes on the wedding cake and dies, or gets badly injured? And what if you get sued and have to pay for the damages? That is when you thank the heavens for the fact that you bought a wedding liability insurance policy that covers such events.
Wedding insurance can be a great way to get peace of mind and not worry about something happening during your wedding. As mentioned, a liability policy will guard you against injuries and deaths happening during your wedding. These policies aren’t that expensive either, and cost around $200 on average.
There are also the wedding event policies which guard you against unforeseen events that happen with the location, deposits, caterer, your beautiful and expensive wedding dress, or other item covered by the policy. These policies are sometimes referred to as wedding cancellation policies, meaning that some of these policies cover major events that result in the cancellation of the entire wedding, or just small events such as bankruptcies by your service providers.
Both these types of insurances can be smart to have purchased long before you get married, as most of them insure certain items up until the wedding is over. It is also a good idea to shop around for the best rates, and then choose to most reputable of those that fit your budget. Being to be able to let your shoulders down and enjoy your own wedding without worrying is priceless.
