Throwing A Sesame Street Birthday Party

Up to the point when kids “outgrow” Sesame Street, hosting a party that’s themed with Elmo, Grover, and the Cookie Monster is always a hit.  It isn’t hard to do at all, and the kids absolutely love it.  In this post I want to share some tips that I’ve learned from throwing these parties myself.

Sesame Street birthday party supplies are very easy to find.  You can get them online or at any party store, and they’re usually fairly inexpensive.  Most of the characters have their own stuff, so if your little one has a preference you can get decorations and favors that match.

The invited kid’s parents will be in love with you if you host a party that jives with the show.  That means that there could be some learning games, and the letter/number of the day.  You can even make the whole party seem as if it’s actually a TV show by video taping it, or setting up a small stage for everything to happen on.  If you’re looking for an easy way to be the most popular and envied parent on the block, this is an easy way to do it!

Baking the cake is easy as well.  There are tons of different shaped cake pans out there in Sesame Street characters.  The Big Bird and Cookie Monster cake pans are both retired, but easily found on eBay.  Elmo and Abbie Cadabbi cake pans are both currently made, so they’re very easy to find as well.  Pick the pan that matches your kid’s favorite character, if they have on.  If you’ve never decorated a cake before these are all really easy cakes to decorate.  Be sure to practice a bit with the icing bag before getting started so you know how it works, but aside from that you shouldn’t have many problems getting it done.

Sesame Street birthday parties are easy to host, just be sure to spend the time to plan out the activities and the cake beforehand and it will go off as smooth as icing!
